A few beat a path toward Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. It's hard to think of more famous performer that embodies Colorado as well as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. In 2011 Denver was selected as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people across the globe. On my trips I've met folks from New Zealand or the other side. If you say you're from Colorado the first words that they'll hear are Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief stint in smaller folk groups included Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff created the song along with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver heard an early version he knew right away the song could be the next hit single. After performing the track in Washington D.C. to a vast crowd, he released the song a couple of days later.
